I finally got some old film developed from our time in Emerald Isle, North Carolina! Dale and I had just started sharing the news that I was pregnant and took a few photos with an ultrasound photo and this “It’s a Boy” card from Hallmark Signature. It’s so crazy to think back on this time now that our Grant is about to be four months old!
February Around The Web
I can hardly believe February is coming to a close and that we could meet baby boy next month! I began February speaking at KU’s Design Symposium Lecture Series alongside some other talented Hallmarkers, my family got to see Grace perform as Squidward in Spongebob the Musical, I had a great JLKCMO Dinner Club at The Westside Local, Grace was nominated and chosen for Sweetheart Court, I got to see some college friends at Erin’s bridal shower, we hosted a baby shower for my cousin’s wife Kelsea (who is due exactly a week before me), and the Chiefs WON the Super Bowl (again) – all before Valentine’s Day! Dale and I celebrated heart day with our traditional Italian dinner at Lidia’s and then we headed to The Elms for my birthday weekend. It was the perfect mini-babymoon and weekend away! After coming home we had a family birthday dinner at my parents complete with my favorite chocolate ganache cake. The month ended with both of our work baby showers and some final prep on the nursery (as well as a fun Sip & See to meet my friend Heather’s baby, Archer)! Here is what stood out around the web:
AI artwork is everywhere, and not without worthy controversy and discussion. While I haven’t explored for myself, these pieces by Andrés Reisinger caught my eye (alongside many on the internet). I’m so curious to see what the future holds for this technology!
One thing I have craved during pregnancy is cereal, making these popcorn balls a very appealing recipe to test out
It’s always interesting to reflect back on your personal spaces/tastes over time. Kate’s first solo apartment reminded me of our place in STL!
A fun heart day fashion roundup
Bookmarking these matching mother/son outfit combos Carly put together!
Another highlight of the month was discovering this Banana Oatmeal Muffin recipe!
A classic and cool office reveal from Alisa (@aglassofbovino)
And lastly, something to save for a few years down the road (Halloween 2025 perhaps?)
XOXO
January Around The Web
January has flown by and I am now 31 weeks pregnant! It was an exciting month with TWO baby showers to help us celebrate and prepare for our new arrival. We also spent a weekend in Wichita celebrating my friend Steph and her baby boy on the way. My friend Macy, who hosted us, is also expecting a little girl in March. It’s going to be an eventful Spring! We wrapped up January with a few family birthday celebrations (a weekend at Turkey Hill for Pop and dinner for Aubrey).
Around the web I spotted this bag which has now been added to my wish list as an almost boy mom!
Liz’s trip to Harbour Island looked dreamy! And the turtle photos!
A lovely sneaker roundup
While I just can’t relate to cluttercore, this was an interesting read!
Also saving this for our next dinner out! I’ve had such a hard time knowing what mocktail to order while pregnant.
The perfect winter Valentine’s Day craft (as usual from Lars)
I know I would have LOVED this hidden room as a kid. Maybe someday we can have one!
Kelly has been sharing her colorful and moody Palm Springs home. You won’t want to miss a single room but I’m obsessed with the magenta dining room.
A recent baby purchase, the Snuggle Me infant lounger that is still on sale!
And the finishing touch on the nursery. While this isn’t typical baby decor, I love how it looks in the room and know we could easily move it somewhere else in our home in the future!
Hello, 2023!
One Second Everyday 2022
2022 has come to a close and I’m so happy I choose to continue using the 1 Second Everyday app to capture my year. While I definitely didn’t limit each day to only ONE second always, I love this way to look back at all the everyday moments mixed with highlights, like our three weeks in Europe. I’ve already started on my 2023 video which I know will be extra special. Enjoy!
December Around The Web
2022 is coming to a close and what a year it has been! This December was filled with time spent celebrating with family and friends, and I’m so grateful to be wrapping up my second trimester of pregnancy. We started the month with a whirlwind weekend at the return of Krikindl Markt at church, celebrating Macy’s baby girl in Wichita, and a few days in Savannah for work. Dale and I attended two holiday parties for his work and I celebrated the holidays with the Junior League of Kansas City Missouri, Fund Development council and hosted an ornament exchange for my Chi O friends. Our family took a trip to Lawrence for my aunt’s annual Vespers concert and Dale and I had a wonderful dinner at Basil Leaf with Grammy Pop. Then we headed into all the traditional Christmas festivities with our families.
On December 23rd I made spritz cookies with my mom and Grace for our annual Christmas Eve party, but next year I would love to add in these gingerbread ones as well!
I’m thinking that next year I want decorate our tree with something special so I’m saving this roundup for inspiration. Maybe I’ll add an orange garland, too?
Loved these beautiful paper angels from Lars
And this classic holiday home decor. Someday I would love to have a staircase to decorate!
Dale and I LOVED season two of White Lotus and this was an interesting read about about the filming and location in Italy
I don’t think 2023 will be a year of travel for us, but bookmarking just in case!
A good review of my favorite skincare line, Biossance
And the easiest, best appetizer I served at my ornament exchange
The most beautiful wedding I”m pinning for color palette inspiration alone!
And an impressive 2022 report card from Chris Loves Julia
may all be merry & Bright!
Savannah, Georgia
The first week of December I had the opportunity to travel to Savannah, Georgia for work. My co-worker, Anna, and I had the best time exploring the city and would highly recommend The Drayton Hotel. Visiting before Christmas was magical because we were able to see all the decorations! Our favorite meals were at Treylor Park, Collins Quarter, and Vic’s on the Water. Don’t miss shopping at The Paris Market, Savannah Bee Co., and the Owens-Thomas House & Slave Quarters does a wonderful job sharing an accurate history of the house and Savannah. Enjoy!
