In April we moved into a new home and I’ve been excited to start designing Grant’s toddler room! While he is still sleeping in his crib in the nursery, I know we will want to move him to a new room at some point. He’s obsessed with trucks and construction sites so I’ve been on the hunt for toddler truck themed decor that also goes along with the house. I can’t wait for things to start arriving!
Bonjour, Paris
Saturday June 21st our family arrived in Paris! My Mom and Grace had already spent a week exploring and we were all so excited to finally meet up with them. After a long flight with two littles and a long wait for our rental car we checked in to the Hotel Rochester Champs-Elysees and attempted to pull ourselves together for dinner. After a shower and cat nap we walked to Le Petit Cler for dinner! After a delicious meal we walked over to get our first up-close glimpse of the Eiffel Tower. Grant was a trooper and after a few too many photos we were all off to get some rest before a full day to explore Paris!
May & June Home Progress
Had to document what we have been focused on around the house the last few months. We have spent most of our time working on the brick patio – Dale re-did the entire border, we power washed, added sand and added some new plants. I was thrilled to see our transplanted iris and peonies doing okay, there were even some blooms! And inside I had a few great estate sale finds (mirror, entry table, bowl and silver tray), I got some wallpaper and roman blind samples, and we got all our tubs refinished. The grand finale was scoring a beautiful Waterford crystal chandelier on marketplace!
May Memories
May is always a memorable month! We delivered May Day flowers to Grammy and Pop, made a quick trip to Columbus for Trixie & Asad’s baby shower, enjoyed my third Mother’s Day with brunch at Indian Hills and a boat ride at Winnebago, Grant’s daycare class released butterflies, we planted some flowers at the new house, spent the weekend at Turkey Hill for Memorial Day (where we celebrated Grammy’s birthday), attended ARTPOP, and ended the month with an early 10 year anniversary dinner at Cru Bistro & Bottles. Here’s to Spring and enjoying all the blooms!
Easter 2025
I never would have guessed that we would be hosting Easter at our new home just weeks after moving in! While it was a little crazy, it did force us to get unpacked quickly and I know I will love looking back at the “before” of our home someday. It turned out to be a rainy affair, but Winston was the perfect little bunny on his first Easter and Grant loved hunting for eggs around the house with his cousins! I’m looking forward to many family gatherings at our home in the future!
Our New Home
We moved (not far!) into a new home. It’s a 100 year old Tudor beauty and we can’t wait to make it our own. While definitely not a fixer-upper, it is somewhat of a blank canvas and the yard and patio need some love. Here are a few snippets from our first months of slowly moving in. The fully furnished formal living room and dining room photos were taken when we were looking at the home, I’ll be needing to design these two spaces. I can’t wait for all the memories we will make here!
Right off the bat I had some major estate sale and FB marketplace wins including this beautiful blue velvet couch and a couple light fixtures. The home has a million sconces (some of which I love!) but a lot of new off the shelf lighting put in for listing that I’m slowly working to replace with vintage pieces.
