With it being Spring of my senior year of college, it seems that almost every day someone asks about my post-graduation plans. I absolutely loved the advice Debbie Millman offers in this Creative Mornings talk. It was the perfect thing to watch in order to help me think about what is truly important as I search for jobs and strive to present myself to future employers to the best of my ability. For anyone whose stage of life aligns with mine, this talk is definitely worth watching.
Today I took the time to re-photograph my Bloomfield Farm Honey Packaging. I really wanted to bring some new life to this project, and I think these photographs do a much better job presenting the packaging. Below are a few extra photos I loved:
Yesterday I went to AIGA KC's annual portfolio workshop. Last year's event was open to juniors and I received a lot of helpful feedback about the portfolio I used to apply for internships. This year, I was happy to be able to attend again and get some insights on my senior portfolio. Not only was this a great opportunity for me to practice speaking about my work, it was helpful to gain some outside perspectives on projects I have looked at so many times. In the next few weeks I will be implementing changes to some projects based on the feedback, and of course this will also mean some updates to my website. Thanks AIGA KC!

Last night in my hand lettering class I was formally introduced to the work of Dana Tanamachi. WIthout a doubt I have seen her chalk lettering before, but her website and collection of work is truly inspiring. I found her recent personal project entitled Flourish to be especially beautiful. I found it fascinating to witness the scale at which she creates her lettering, and wonderful to be able to watch her process. Photos by Eric Ryan Anderson and Andrew Ryan Shepherd.
Having spent a great portion of yesterday doing product research, I stumbled upon the lovely website that is Such Great Heights. These kids products are created to nurture creativity and utilize quality materials and design adults will cherish. I know I would have loved playing in my own Wonder Tent as a child. Take a look!
