March Around The Web
I have decided that Spring is my favorite season. Every year around this time I feel so refreshed, despite the chaotic nature of this month which was filled with travel, family events, and a busy season at work. I think just being able to get outside more often really improves my mood, and all the sunny weather in New Orleans during our trip was especially nice. I also LOVE all the flowers that begin to peek out at the start of Spring. Coco Kelley's Romantic Floral Tutorial caught my attention this month β I adore the moodiness and how it perfectly captures the emotion of this season. Here are a few other favorites from the web this March:
I loved seeing Ken Sheldon's beautiful illustrations for Think.Make.Share. available on Designlovefest!
Such a simple DIY that I'm dying to try.
I'm often inspired by posts on Design Sponge, and these quotes were no exception.
This bow guide is so charming.
I finally got around to trying out this Roasted Chickpea recipe this week, it was delicious!
While I am loving my Productivity Planner, May Designs' new Folios have me considering ordering a few of their notebooks...
Waiting for an occasion to make this macaroon cake.
Dale and I are starting to ponder a Europe trip after he finishes school, Lisbon is high on my list!
Does anyone sleep on a silk pillowcase? It seems so luxurious (and great for your skin!).
Last weekend I saw Disney's new Beauty & The Beast movie and it was visually stunning. I am curious about the process of designing the sets and costumes.
Last, but not least, I just ordered a faux-collar from a talented Hallmarker, Cece. I choose the Peach Fern pattern.
Happy Spring, and enjoy your weekend!
Hallmark CLS Speaker: Gemma O'Brien
Today I received my invitation to Hallmark's Creative Leadership Symposium and I was especially excited to see that Gemma O'Brien (@mrseaves101 on Instagram) will be speaking! I have followed Gemma for a long time and her work is stunning. The whole lineup has not been announced yet, but based off of the few names we did learn I know it will be an amazing day.
The theme for this year's event is "Explore What Else?" and I think each of the speakers will address this in their talk β I can't wait to report back after the actual event! For now, enjoy some of Gemma's beautiful work:
Birthday Cards for Hallmark
Hello, friends! I'm pretty excited that these four birthday cards I designed for Hallmark last summer are now arriving in stores. Any project focused on lettering, sparkle, and pink is hard to top. I also had a few sweet co-workers who gave me some of these cards for my birthday a few weeks ago. I still love seeing my card designs come to life. Enjoy!
Modern Calligraphy Summit 2.0 Teachers
There are just a few days left of the Modern Calligraphy Summit 2.0 and I have loved watching all the videos that have gone live so far. I'm grateful I can go back and watch these at anytime β thought I have kept up with viewing the lessons I haven't yet had time to complete all the exercises myself. Below you will find links to each of the teachers' websites and Instagram accounts (click on their name for Instagram / photo for their website). I have been very inspired by the variety of styles and vast knowledge these ladies have shared, enjoy browsing through their work!
