One of the highlights of our time at ChΓ’teau les Estournels was the pool! We had lots of (hot) sunshine and spent at least part of every day relaxing in the cold water. There was also a beautiful sunflower field just outside the drive into the house so we had to take a few family photos there as well!
Graceβs 21st Birthday Dinner
The chateauβs beautiful dining room was the perfect setting for our big 21st birthday dinner! Our Airbnb host recommended a chef that came to the house and it was a highlight of the entire trip! Happy 21st Birthday, Grace! Cheers!
Family Portraits at ChΓ’teau les Estournels
June 26 waasGraceβs 21st birthday! Before dinner we took some family portraits outside the chateau. Iβll never forget our lovely evening at the chateau celebrating Grace!
ChΓ’teau les Estournels
On June 25th we arrived at ChΓ’teau les Estournels! This beautiful estate was built in 1776 and we spent five nights relaxing in the countryside with a few short daytime excursions. Here are some photos of the property and our beautiful rooms.
ChΓ’teau de Villandry
Walking through the interior of the ChΓ’teau de Villandry was truly inspiring! Having just moved into a historic home in Kansas City and working on a gallery space celebrating archival imagery at work for the first half of the year, I was delighted around every corner. From color to pattern and texture there are so many details Iβm going to want to look back on.
May & June Home Progress
Had to document what we have been focused on around the house the last few months. We have spent most of our time working on the brick patio β Dale re-did the entire border, we power washed, added sand and added some new plants. I was thrilled to see our transplanted iris and peonies doing okay, there were even some blooms! And inside I had a few great estate sale finds (mirror, entry table, bowl and silver tray), I got some wallpaper and roman blind samples, and we got all our tubs refinished. The grand finale was scoring a beautiful Waterford crystal chandelier on marketplace!
