Last weekend I haded to LA to celebrate my friend Caitlin’s bachelorette weekend! She is marrying Dale’s best friend from college, Matt, in September. We checked in to the Westlake Village Inn & Spa on Friday and headed straight to the pool. That night we had pizza and then headed to bed. The next day we had breakfast at Stonehaus, headed to the spa, and then spent some more time at the pool. It was such a beautiful place to stay in Westlake Village!
June Around The Web
June has truly been a whirlwind. We kicked off the month in Florida to finally celebrate Adam & Alex’s marriage, Dale graduated from his residency, we got together with my college friends, saw both our dads on Father’s Day weekend, and most importantly we got Sophie & Alex married! (Their wedding date of June 26th was also Grace’s 17th birthday!) It has been more meaningful than ever to be able to gather and celebrate and I can’t wait to see all the wedding photos from her photographer!
Around the web was a bit light this month with all the festivities. BUT these lemon taper holders perfectly fit with Sophie’s wedding theme and caught my eye.
I don’t know that we will have time to get to Joshua Tree when we head to CA in September but it’s on the list for someday!
Obsessed with dresses lately and love this one
An interesting read about the future of the American house
Love this cute DIY and I think my nephews would, too!
The “it” houseplants for 2021. You can never have too many!
I’m already dreaming and scheming for a big Europe trip in summer 2022. On the list: England, Greece & Croatia!
Happily Ever After It Is
The Gasparilla Inn and Club
Dale and I had the BEST whirlwind trip to Boca Grande, Florida last weekend to celebrate our friends Adam and Alex! They were married in a private ceremony on the island in 2020 and we were so grateful to be there on their one year anniversary to fully celebrate at the beautiful Gasparilla Inn & Club.
As soon as we arrived we headed to the Beach Club to enjoy the pool and ocean before the evening festivities. For breakfast we walked to a bakery down the street before spending a few more hours in the sunshine before our flight home. I loved learning about the club’s history, we hope to be back soon!
The Canal Club
Sunday we headed to The Canal Club for an amazing outdoor brunch! Afterwards we wandered around the hotel and then did some shopping in Old Town. That afternoon and evening we spent time at the pool, made delicious watermelon cocktails and ordered in from Postino. We can’t wait for June 26th!!
Sunny Scottsdale!
Sophie’s wedding is right around the corner and we had the BEST bachelorette weekend in Scottsdale to celebrate! We got in late Friday night and then were up early for crepes and mimosas, a short hike around Papago Park, lunch at Diego Pops, and then we headed back to the house for an afternoon at the pool. That night we got dressed up for dinner at Sumomaya and then came back to the house for games.
Bandelier National Monument: Part Two
After the whole family walked the Main Loop Trail, Dale and I decided to continue on to the Alcove Trail. In hindsight, I may have let Dale climb the 140 ft. of ladders while I relaxed at the bottom but we safely made it up and down and the view was great. Approximately 25 ancestral Pueblo people lived at the top!
We ended our time at the monument with one more hike to the Upper Falls waterfall. This was a beautiful hike around 1.5 miles each way, ending at the waterfall. (It even had some rocks similar to Tent Rocks which was still closed for visitors.) There are tons of hiking opportunities in the area and I would love to return to the park and hike some of the other trails as well! That night we had a great dinner at Dr. Field Goods. Don’t let the unassuming location stop you from visiting, the food was incredible (I had the shrimp tacos)!
