Happy Halloween, friends. I hope it’s spooky!
October Around The Web
Hello, friends! The spookiest time of year has arrived and I’ve been busy baking pumpkin muffins and watching the new Sabrina The Teenage Witch on Netflix. This month I traveled to Cincinnati for work, fit in a trip to the Louisberg Cider Mill, celebrated Dale’s 27th birthday with Brew at the Zoo, Mexican food, and a family pizza dinner, and I’m gearing up for the first Halloween in our new house. I’m really curious whether we will have lots of trick or treaters or not! Here are some of my favorite finds around the web this month:
I was super inspired by this rental home transformation!
This Moroccan Chicken Soup has been perfect in the colder weather.
Bri’s art direction is just stunning!
Anyone who knows me well knows this costume is right up my alley…
Love the idea of Moorea Seal’s newest book 52 Lists for Togetherness
In case you need a last minute Halloween cake idea
My second favorite Halloween costume this year
We also tried this gnocchi recipe this month!
I’m definitely not a maximalist but I really enjoyed this home tour
Happy haunting!
Fall Foliage
A few photos from my walk around the neighborhood this weekend. I’m feeling super grateful for the colorful fall foliage this year in Kansas City!
Birthday Lettering for Hallmark
Happy Friday, friends! Working on these birthday cards was one of my first assignments when I moved back to the Lettering Studio at Hallmark last year and it’s fun to finally see them in the real world. It is also Dale’s birthday next week so I can’t wait to celebrate! Have a wonderful weekend.
A Quote From Last Night
Last night I had the chance to hear Chelsea Clinton speak about her new children’s book Start Now! The book encourages children to start making a difference in their communities and I can’t wait to read the whole thing. She also did a Q&A and shared one of her favorite pieces of advice her mom gave her. Enjoy!
Keychain Birthday Tray Collection for Hallmark
I’ve been waiting and waiting to see this tray collection in stores and I finally found it at my local Walmart! Last year I collaborated with Jennifer Hutton to design this four card collection featuring removable keychains and my hand lettering. (Jen is also an amazing painter, take a look at her work!) I loved having the opportunity to design cards with a three-dimensional element and the bold color palette and florals brought everything together. I hope these cards bring a little joy to someone’s birthday!
