Countdown to Christmas

Sheyda’s Illustrations were also utilized by Hallmark Keepsake Ornament Artist Tim Bodendistal. I was able to draw the matching numbers for the existing lettering title style and help with the layout of the “Countdown to Christmas” book. I purchased a set of these for my son and they are perfect for kids! I can’t wait to fill with treats and re-use year after year.

Hallmark Holiday Gift Presentation Lettering

Hello, friends! Christmas is upon us once again and I’m excited to share that Sheyda and I’s look for Hallmark’s Holiday Product story lives on with new product this year! First up, my font “Good Cheer” created by Josh Scruggs used on this adorable green gift bag, along with several other pieces of embellished typography. These started from Laura Ballard and Josh Scruggs font “Snickerdoodle.”

November Memories

In early November we kicked off the month finding out that Baby Smith #2 is another boy and that Grant’s prediction of “it’s a brother” was correct! We can’t wait to meet this second little buddy next Spring. After that we headed on our trip to California, and then I immediately hopped on another plane to Nashville to visit Grace! I got to spend a few nights with her in the dorm, eat in the cafeteria and we went to Kamala’s “107 Days” Nashville book tour stop. The end of the month was full of Thanksgiving festivities and getting our Christmas tree/starting to decorate. Here’s to the holidays!

Thanksgiving 2025

Happy Thanksgiving! Grant and I enjoyed a delicious brunch at EB and GPa’s house before heading back home to finish getting ready to host. This was the first year family has come to our house for dinner, and it was so special having everyone together. So much to be grateful for this year!

Halloween 2025

For Halloween this year the entire family pulled from my mom’s costume closet to dress up as knights, a king, queen, and princesses – complete with Dale the dragon. Grant and Winston got their special outfits in France (amid the HOT weather) so it was extra exciting for them to get to wear their costumes and remember our Summer trip. We also ordered adorable crochet hats for the boys to complete their outfits. Grace also made the trip home from Nashville to help us celebrate and we had the best time trick or treating at Grammy and Pop’s house and around Dale & I’s new neighborhood!

October Memories

October was a month full of celebrations and spooky activities! There were major milestones: we celebrated Granny’s 99th birthday, Sophie’s 30th birthday (at Tailleur!) and Dale’s 34th birthday. Grant and I walked to and from school as much as possible to enjoye all the Halloween decorations around the neighborhood, we made it to the pumpkin patch with the Hanlins, spent time at the zoo, I participated in a nutcracker workshop at work, and we had the BEST time at Indian Hill’s kids Halloween party. On the 30th we once again carved pumpkins at EB & GPa’s house after a spooky themed dinner. Grant picked out a sad pumpkin face this year (which Dale did an amazing job carving) and Sophie and I enjoyed dressing the boys in matching pumpkin shirts. Happy Halloween!
