In early October Dale and I traveled to Honolulu for his CHEST work conference. We stayed right on Waikiki Beach at the Alohilani Resort. I worked while Dale attended his conference, but we fit in lots of great food, time on the beach and a hike while we were there. This was our first time away from Grant, and we missed him a lot, but we tried to embrace the fun with friends!
My favorite stops for food included Maguro Spot (for Poke), Sunrise Shack (Acai Bowls) and Marugame Udon (the BEST Japanese noodles!). Our hike was the Diamond Head Summit Trail which was through a crater and ended with a view of the coast. Hopefully we will have another trip back to Hawaii someday where we can explore beyond Waikiki, but was was a beautiful quick trip!
