Keepsakes: Everyday Celebrations Engagement

This engagement ornament may be my favorite of the 2024 Keepsakes Everyday Celebrations group that I created lettering for! Artists Sheyda Abvabi Best and Allie Robillard created the concept and designed this ornaments, and I had the fun job of finishing out the “yes to forever” lettering. I hope it is a wonderful gift for many engaged couples this year!

August Around The Web

August was a month of transition! We spent lots of time with my sister, Grace, before her move to college and tried to soak up time at the pool with my friend Sonya and my family. We also fit in time with friends (Chi O Brunch with Ashley, Sunflower Festival with Austin and Ali, dinner with Sydney and Salvador, and brunch with Laura and Ashton) and at the end of the month Grant had his first flight when we traveled to Nashville! I can’t believe this was my first full month of maternity leave before I will return to work in September. I am beyond grateful for this time I’ve had with Grant!

  • Around the web, I am already enjoying subtle shifts to fall fashion. I’m obsessed with this late-summer sweater roundup from Julia.

  • Also loved Liz’s August outfits recap

  • Living in an old house we rely on a lot of lamps vs. ceiling lights. I don’t have any more spots for these cuties but really enjoyed the roundup

  • If you are from Kansas City, this is SUPER nostalgic!

  • A wedding that stopped me in my tracks. Especially the stationary.

  • I couldn’t help but purchase Grant one of these Rock Chalk bubbles. Can’t wait for it to arrive, just in time for football season!

  • Bad on Paper is one of my favorite podcasts, you should all pre-order Becca’s book!

  • My sister, Grace, also has a new song out: Gatsby’s House. Take a listen!

  • Lastly, a podcast I must listen to soon. Jurassic Park became a favorite during the pandemic.

enjoy that end-of-summer sunshine!

March Around The Web

I’m writing this a bit in advance, baby boy should be here by the time this posts! We can’t wait to meet him. March was filled with final prep for baby, doctor’s appointments, time with family (Neil visited from Chicago early in the month), dinners with friends (Dinner Club at Ragazza, Sonya’s birthday at Lidia’s, Bamboo Penny’s with Mary, Kam, Megan and Matt, and Tavern with Heather) and finishing up work before my leave. We are SO excited for what April and this Spring will bring!

  • This month we decided to get a new rug for our kitchen and went with this beautiful one from Anthropologie. While we loved our old one, it unfortunately was pretty worn from the past almost five years.

  • Right before baby we made these two frozen meals to have on hand. Looking forward to both the stuffed shells and quinoa dish!

  • I would love to have an entire tea station like this someday!

  • These wedding photos caught my eye, especially the ones peeking through the grass.

  • Love the idea of having a keepsake of baby’s hand and foot prints – these shadow boxes from Cowtown Clay are a beautiful option!

  • While I am a diehard Artifact Uprising fan (and ordered my baby book from them), I also love this option for a first year book from Printique.

  • A fun video from my Hallmark photo studio friends about turning a card into a gift!

  • Obsessed with these beautiful pressed flower pieces.

Welcome, baby boy!

Keepsakes: Everyday Celebrations Wedding

Last, but definitely not least, I’m thrilled to share these beautiful wedding ornaments for 2023! Artist Azusa Omara did the final artwork that brought to life my wedding cake concept sketch and I was the main artist behind the gold wedding frame. I can’t wait to gift these to a few friends getting married this year! (And you can read my Keepsakes bio in the last image!)

December Around The Web

2022 is coming to a close and what a year it has been! This December was filled with time spent celebrating with family and friends, and I’m so grateful to be wrapping up my second trimester of pregnancy. We started the month with a whirlwind weekend at the return of Krikindl Markt at church, celebrating Macy’s baby girl in Wichita, and a few days in Savannah for work. Dale and I attended two holiday parties for his work and I celebrated the holidays with the Junior League of Kansas City Missouri, Fund Development council and hosted an ornament exchange for my Chi O friends. Our family took a trip to Lawrence for my aunt’s annual Vespers concert and Dale and I had a wonderful dinner at Basil Leaf with Grammy Pop. Then we headed into all the traditional Christmas festivities with our families.

may all be merry & Bright!
