November Around The Web

Hello, friends! I’ve once again gotten behind on my “around the web” series, but am happy to be back this month with a few favorites. Time has flown by since I returned to work from my maternity leave, but we had a lovely November. The month started with a Froends weekend in Nashville (where we also got to spend time with Grace!), I attended two Friendsgiving celebrations (Dale’s co-workers and my college friends), took our family Christmas card photos at the Nelson, Dale took his first set of board exams, and we had a wonderful first Thanksgiving with Grant! Around the web this month I came across these stunning headpieces by Wolf & Moon. I’m currently dreaming up an occasion where I could invest in one in the future, but for now I’m taking in all their beautiful work on their website.

Extra Grateful this year

August Around The Web

August was a month of transition! We spent lots of time with my sister, Grace, before her move to college and tried to soak up time at the pool with my friend Sonya and my family. We also fit in time with friends (Chi O Brunch with Ashley, Sunflower Festival with Austin and Ali, dinner with Sydney and Salvador, and brunch with Laura and Ashton) and at the end of the month Grant had his first flight when we traveled to Nashville! I can’t believe this was my first full month of maternity leave before I will return to work in September. I am beyond grateful for this time I’ve had with Grant!

  • Around the web, I am already enjoying subtle shifts to fall fashion. I’m obsessed with this late-summer sweater roundup from Julia.

  • Also loved Liz’s August outfits recap

  • Living in an old house we rely on a lot of lamps vs. ceiling lights. I don’t have any more spots for these cuties but really enjoyed the roundup

  • If you are from Kansas City, this is SUPER nostalgic!

  • A wedding that stopped me in my tracks. Especially the stationary.

  • I couldn’t help but purchase Grant one of these Rock Chalk bubbles. Can’t wait for it to arrive, just in time for football season!

  • Bad on Paper is one of my favorite podcasts, you should all pre-order Becca’s book!

  • My sister, Grace, also has a new song out: Gatsby’s House. Take a listen!

  • Lastly, a podcast I must listen to soon. Jurassic Park became a favorite during the pandemic.

enjoy that end-of-summer sunshine!

February Around The Web

I can hardly believe February is coming to a close and that we could meet baby boy next month! I began February speaking at KU’s Design Symposium Lecture Series alongside some other talented Hallmarkers, my family got to see Grace perform as Squidward in Spongebob the Musical, I had a great JLKCMO Dinner Club at The Westside Local, Grace was nominated and chosen for Sweetheart Court, I got to see some college friends at Erin’s bridal shower, we hosted a baby shower for my cousin’s wife Kelsea (who is due exactly a week before me), and the Chiefs WON the Super Bowl (again) – all before Valentine’s Day! Dale and I celebrated heart day with our traditional Italian dinner at Lidia’s and then we headed to The Elms for my birthday weekend. It was the perfect mini-babymoon and weekend away! After coming home we had a family birthday dinner at my parents complete with my favorite chocolate ganache cake. The month ended with both of our work baby showers and some final prep on the nursery (as well as a fun Sip & See to meet my friend Heather’s baby, Archer)! Here is what stood out around the web:

XOXO

January Around The Web

January has flown by and I am now 31 weeks pregnant! It was an exciting month with TWO baby showers to help us celebrate and prepare for our new arrival. We also spent a weekend in Wichita celebrating my friend Steph and her baby boy on the way. My friend Macy, who hosted us, is also expecting a little girl in March. It’s going to be an eventful Spring! We wrapped up January with a few family birthday celebrations (a weekend at Turkey Hill for Pop and dinner for Aubrey).

  • Around the web I spotted this bag which has now been added to my wish list as an almost boy mom!

  • Liz’s trip to Harbour Island looked dreamy! And the turtle photos!

  • A lovely sneaker roundup

  • While I just can’t relate to cluttercore, this was an interesting read!

  • Also saving this for our next dinner out! I’ve had such a hard time knowing what mocktail to order while pregnant.

  • The perfect winter Valentine’s Day craft (as usual from Lars)

  • I know I would have LOVED this hidden room as a kid. Maybe someday we can have one!

  • Kelly has been sharing her colorful and moody Palm Springs home. You won’t want to miss a single room but I’m obsessed with the magenta dining room.

  • A recent baby purchase, the Snuggle Me infant lounger that is still on sale!

  • And the finishing touch on the nursery. While this isn’t typical baby decor, I love how it looks in the room and know we could easily move it somewhere else in our home in the future!

Hello, 2023!

February Around The Web

February has come to a close and this month’s highlight was celebrating my 30th Birthday in Breckenridge, Colorado! This month we also went salsa dancing with our friends Sydney and Salvador, Dale and I celebrated Valentine’s Day with dinner at Novel, I went to my first concert since the pandemic began (Kacey Musgraves in Denver!) and preparations for Holiday Mart 2022 continued. Around the web, I am still obsessed with these doily honeycomb hearts from Lars, I would love to make some for next Valentine’s Day!

XOXO

September Around The Web

September was all about weddings! Before all the festivities began we started the month with a Labor Day weekend boating at Turkey Hill and had dinner to celebrate Barbara’s birthday at Lake Winnebago. The next week Grace and I got our nails done before Laura and Ashton’s wedding weekend, Holiday Mart held our Pre-Con meeting, and then Dale and I packed and headed to LA to celebrate Matt and Caitlin. As soon as we were home Holiday Mart move-in and show week began! This month was a whirlwind and had some definite lows as well. Fall has arrived and I’m having a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that there are just a few months left in 2021. Never have I had to try harder to embrace the season we are in!

  • Kate’s kitchen stopped me in my tracks. It’s so unique and refreshing and has me wanting to include a lot more color and quirk in my home.

  • Julia’s fall table also caught my eye! I love the beautiful florals and how the dishes stick within the same pink palette.

  • Krystal’s styling and photography are always so inspiring. These photos truly feel like Fall.

  • I’m not a huge baker, or chef for that matter, but I would love to try these pumpkin snickerdoodle cookies!

  • Living in a smaller home, I always enjoy others’ tips and tricks for how they best utilize their space, especially in the kitchen.

  • And on the opposite end of the spectrum, penthouse inspiration.

  • It’s soup season!

  • This burgundy color is going to be popular this year I think!

Let’s embrace The Season
