Honeymoon Part One: Athens

I have finally sorted through all of our honeymoon photos and I'm excited to share my favorites from Athens! Dale and I spent the first two days of our trip exploring the city, and I loved the contrast between the history and modern life. After getting off the plane we first checked in at the Royal Olympic Athens. Our room had a beautiful view of the Temple of Olympian Zeus. The rest of the afternoon was spent exploring the Plaka. I loved how the Greek evil eye even appeared in the graffiti.

We woke up early on day two and made it up to the Acropolis by 8 A.M. The view from the top was hard to capture in pictures, it was amazing to see the light reflect off of the buildings. You could also tell just how huge the city is. Seeing the Parthenon in person was incredible, and I definetley recommend The Acropolis Museum. That afternoon we also saw the the Theater of Dionysus, The Ancient Agora, and visited the National Archeological Museum. Spending two days in Athens was the perfect start to our trip. I will share pictures from Santorini soon!

Wedding Party Links

I'm back! #dalliesmith is now official (we were married June 6th!) and I decided to take the rest of the month off from blogging. I am excited to now share my dress, and links to what the wedding party wore. While at times stressful, I had the best time planning our wedding. I hope that the pictures, links, and other details I am able to document on the blog will help me to remember the planning stages and the little things that together helped make our wedding so special. Be on the lookout for much more!

Favorite Pins This Week

Here are a few of my favorite things I pinned this week. With my honeymoon to Athens and Santorini approaching, I have started doing some research and was happy to come across this great guide to some of the islands. I also loved the sweet Mother's Day stories over on Think.Make.Share. Enjoy!

Sisters In STL

I spent last Saturday exploring Cherokee Street in STL with my two future sister-in-laws! With the wedding quickly approaching it was nice to spend a relaxing weekend shopping, eating, and enjoying the nice weather. Saturday night we ate at Charlie Gitto's, one of my favorite Italian restaurants on The Hill. It really is hard to beat homemade noodles.

Sunday we ate breakfast at the Soulard Coffee Garden. This was followed by a trip to get gelato at the Gelateria del Leone. After trying way too many samples we each finally decided on our order. Next up was a quick stop at 4 Hands Brewing Co. to get some beer for the boys back home. Our last adventure was a visit to see the Jewel Box in Forest Park. I was excited to finally take a peek inside this mysterious greenhouse, and it is definitely worth a visit! Thanks for visiting Dianne and Heidi!

An April Shower

This weekend my sister Sophie and future sister-in-law, Dianne, hosted a beautiful bridal shower for me! Here are a few pictures of the delicious food and amazing flowers by Hitched Planning+Floral

The decorations were based off of my grandmother's bridal shower. It made the event even more special to think that she celebrated in a similar way when she was about to get married. I couldn't have asked for a more lovely afternoon! I truly have some wonderful family and friends.

Ashley Goldberg Workshop

A few weeks ago I had the amazing opportunity to attend a workshop at Hallmark with artist Ashley Goldberg! Over on the Think.Make.Share. blog you can see an interview with Ashley, as well as some snapshots from the workshop. Hallmark also created a video where she shares some great pattern-making tips. I was even lucky enough to walk away with the cat print pictured in the photo below (via the Think.Make.Share. blog):

Here are a few pictures I took during the workshop. The second image shows some pieces I created during the workshop. If you aren't familiar with Ashley's work I definitely recommend you take a look!
