March Around The Web

Hello, everyone! I hope you are well, what a strange and sad month March turned out to be! We were lucky to safely make it back from Costa Rica and shortly after that Kansas City went into social distancing full swing. I don’t know what April will bring but I do know that I’m thinking of everyone affected by Covid-19, especially New York City. And as a wife of a doctor I’m really proud of all the amazing health care workers. I especially loved seeing rainbows in Brooklyn as shared by Joanna of Cup of Jo – the three story rainbow window display by Linsey Laidlaw and her kids takes the cake!

Exploring the Costa Rican Rainforest!

Hello, friends! Our last few days were spent exploring the rainforest on a zip line tour with Titi Canopy and hiking hrough Rainmaker Park. Both were wonderful but definitely not for the faint of heart! I’m also sharing the amazing GoPro video my sister Grace made recapping our entire trip!

Being among the huge trees in the rainforest was amazing and while I Ioved all the wildlife we did have one scary snake encounter on our hike! If you visit Quepos and enjoy hiking I wouldn’t let that deter you, just make sure you are looking where you are walking on the paths. I also really enjoyed our zipline tour! It’s been a few years since I was on a zipline, but traveling over the tops of the trees was pretty magical. Hopefully this won’t be my last trip to Costa Rica! I’m definitely missing the warm sunshine back at home during these tough times. I know I will be even more grateful for opportunities to travel in the future!

Manuel Antonio National Park

On day four of our trip to Costa Rica we headed to Manuel Antonio National Park! After finally finding somewhere to park we headed in and started exploring. My dad and I choose to get a guide in order to see more animals while Sophie, Alex, Grace and my mom spent the morning walking around and at the beach. The park is beautiful, but it is pretty difficult to spot all the animals without help! Our guide had a magnifying lens that we could hold our phones up to to take close up photos of sloths, snakes, dragonflies, and more!

After our tour ended my dad and I met back up with everyone and walked around the beach for a bit. By then we were hungry and decided to head back into town for another round of casados. That evening we enjoyed more time at the house, just relaxing in the pool was one of our favorite parts of the trip. And Grace even found some time to do a couple photoshoots, with the scenery to work with she couldn’t help it!
