Turkey Hill Blooms

I was lucky enough to spend this weekend at my family's lake house, Turkey Hill, with my parents, sisters and grandparents. We spent quite a bit of time surrounded by flowers, both real and handmade paper blooms. I absolutely loved learning to make paper flowers at a Think.Make.Share. workshop, and I had the best time teaching my mom, grandma and sisters how to make their own. Now we will be reminded of this weekend every time we visit Turkey Hill and see our bouquets!

I was also inspired by all the beautiful pressed flower pieces Hallmark shared just last week, and luckily there were still enough flowers left in the garden and wildflower field to make our own pieces. Hopefully you will find some inspiration from our flower-filled weekend!

Piñata Tips from Think.Make.Share.

Recently I participated in a piñata-making workshop at Hallmark for one of #My5Days! I choose to make a cactus piñata and you can head over to Think.Make.Share. for all the tips and tricks Em shared during the workshop. I may have underestimated the time commitment of creating my three-foot cactus, but I am obsessed with the end result! I hope you feel inspired to make a piñata of your own. Happy crafting!

Apartment Views

Dale and I have now been in our apartment in St. Louis for three years and I have always wanted to take some time to document it before we move! While we still have one more year here, I went ahead and took some photos so that I will be able to look back on our first home.  We are lucky to be on the corner of our building so we get lots of light, and I also love our black and white checkered floor in the kitchen. Enjoy!

June Around The Web

Summer has officially arrived, and I can't believe June is already coming to a close! This month Dale and I spent time celebrating our friends' birthdays in Lawrence, I visited my cousin Liesel in Richmond, we celebrated Megan and Matt's wedding in Kansas City, and spent a weekend at home in St. Louis. Dale and I visited the Johnson Shut-Ins and had a lovely dinner at Scarlett's Wine Bar for our two year wedding anniversary! While not overly relaxing, this month was filled with time spent with our dearest friends and family and we still have more celebrations to look forward to this summer. This was also a busy month at work filled with special projects and work on cards I can't wait to share when they finally reach stores!

With the warm weather I have also been wanting to try making homemade popsicles, and the web did not disappoint with two (very different) recipes that both look delicious! The first is the Pitaya Popsicle from Glitter Guide, and the second is a frosé popsicle from Camille Styles. Here are some other finds this June:

Now go enjoy those long summer days!
