December Around The Web

2018 is upon us and I am currently in Nashville with friends to ring in the New Year! This month I fully embraced the holiday spirit and spent time baking cookies, decorating our tree(s), I hosted a holiday ornament exchange, and spent lots of time with family for our traditional Christmas events. I hope you were able to spend time with those you love this season as well. Around the web there was endless holiday inspiration, and I am hoping to try this champagne cocktail on New Year's: 

• Jessica Hische designed these beautiful Christmas cards for Hallmark Signature! The "Happy Holidays" ornament will be on our tree for years to come. 

• I found these 2018 Wellness Trends fascinating

• This Photo Collage DIY is high on my list of projects for the New Year!

• This added a few destinations to my wish list...

• These Apple Rose Tartlets look delicious (and beautiful!)

• I would love to learn how to bake bread!

• Another New Year's DIY that I might try

• A beautiful wedding in Ravello, Italy, one of the places

• Going to continue my habit of drinking lots of water in 2018!

• The most unique nativity idea I have seen! Maybe I will make one for next Christmas...

’Tis the Season

Christmas is officially less than a week away! This year Dale and I headed  to Eckert's Millstadt Farm to cut down our Christmas tree. It was probably our last trip to Eckert's while living in St.Louis, we have loved going there for our pumpkins, apple picking, and Christmas trees over the last few years — I will miss it! After getting our tree all set up back at the apartment I fully embraced the holiday spirit by decorating the rest of our apartment and making gingerbread cookies. I hope you are enjoying these hectic but special days before Christmas!

Austin Part Two

Hello, friends! Our second day in Austin began with breakfast at Russell's Bistro with some family friends. Afterward we decided to hike up to Mount Bonnell – even though it was a cloudy day the view was still beautiful! Next up was a visit to The Contemporary Austin's Betty and Edward Marcus Sculpture Park at Laguna Gloria. Close to the park we discovered a garden complete with a group of peacocks! 

After enjoying the museum we headed downtown to walk around Lady Bird Lake. I couldn't help but  stop to try out the swan paddle boats, they reminded me of pictures I have seen in Japan! Our walk ended back on Rainey Street where we had dinner at G'Raj Mahal. Our final stop was a beer flight at Banger's Sausage House & Beer Garden. I can't wait for the next opportunity we have to come back to Austin because there was still so much to do that we didn't have time for in our short weekend visit! After another night in our tiny house we were headed back to KC. Until next time, ATX!
