Halloween is right around the corner and I have started to brainstorm ideas for my costume this year. While I have promised my husband I will be Burt Macklin and Janet Snakehole from Parks and Rec on Halloween night, Friday night may require a costume as well! At the moment I am leaning toward the cactus idea. I can't get enough of Studio DIY's costumes! (Last year I dressed up as a champagne bottle based off one of Kelly's ideas.) I know I will stumble upon many more amazing costume ideas in the coming weeks, but go ahead and enjoy some of my favorites!
August Around The Web
I can't believe it is already nearing the end of August! Here is a round-up of some of my favorite inspiration I gathered around the web this month:
Poppytalk's feature on Susan Beech's BEAUTIFUL paper flowers is wonderful. Take a peek at her Etsy shop.
Here is the Crumb Coffee Cake recipe my sister, Sophie, made when she visited St. Louis. It's delicious!
I loved seeing the before and after shots Emily Henderson shared of Ban.do's new office space. Can I move in?
These balloon letters make me oh so happy.
Think.Make.Share. took us behind the scenes of Mirna Stubbs collection for Studio Ink.
These Mara Hoffman for J.Crew pants feature parrots. And are on sale!
This past month also marked the start of my Letters Are Lovely weekly lettering posts. Three weeks in I am feeling energized, and I can't wait to see the variety and evolution that occurs in my lettering over the next year. I haven't undertaken a personal project of this nature before, and I'm excited to see where it will lead. Follow along on the blog, and see the entire collection here!
July Around the Web
I can't believe we are heading into the last week of July, this summer has been a quick one! Here are a few quick picks I have found browsing the inter-webs lately. I am super excited about the beautiful new rug I just ordered from Arro Home, I can't wait to see how it looks in our apartment. I also have to recommend the lemon poppyseed cake recipe from Lauren's Latest blog, it's delicious! The Catalina Bag by Lo and Sons is at the top of my to-purchase list, it would be perfect for my commute to work each week. Enjoy the rest of these links!
J.Crew Fall/Winter 2015 Collection
While I haven't been following Fashion Week as closely as I would have liked, I am once again obsessed with J.Crew's newest collection. The photos shared on their website were just too beautiful not to take note of, and I browsed their entire collection on their Facebook page. The fringe details definitely caught my attention, while the geometric patterned skirt in the photo below is something I would love to buy immediately. Enjoy!
Llamas Are Lovely
Not only are llamas perhaps my most favorite animal, but this Christmas I received several llama-related gifts. I truly hope that everyone is jumping on the llama bandwagon with me. Here are a few of my favorite llama prints, products, and even a snapshot of one of my past projects:
Fall Faux-Fur
It definitely feels like Fall/Winter here in the midwest! I have been craving comfy layers, and I rounded up my favorite faux-fur picks. I particularly love the J.Crew Chateau Parka, I would love to bundle up in that coat on my way to and from work. Take a look:
